Among the 30 institutes analyzed by AICTE on the factors of conducting best practices for education, 3 have been named from Pune.  The College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP), the Army Institute of Technology (AIT) and the AISSMS Institute of Information Technology have been selected by the statutory body for technical education.

The move is to set an example so that other institutions in the country could follow their practices to ensure quality education to the students.
The body had earlier asked its recognized institutes to provide with the report on their method of education. Out of the 30 shortlisted colleges, eight are from Maharashtra including these three.

The three colleges work towards making the education better in their own way by providing motivation and better environment to study. AISSMS institute of Information and technology works towards appreciating the work of teaching staffs to non-teaching staffs including the students by providing them with rewards like appreciation certificate.

Pradeep Mane, the principal of AISSMS Institute of Informati . on Technology, said, “The goal of appreciating the work done by the teaching and non-teaching staff, nd students, was to motivate them to excel in their areas of expertise. This practice will ensure continuous improvements in their performance.”  He also said that the motivation for students and employees make them work on their highest abilities which in turn helps run the institution in a efficient way.

Army Institute of Technology makes its campus better by providing street lights and fitting LED lights in Washrooms and corridors. It also has an interactive solar power generating system which helps in producing around 40-45% of electricity. B P Patil, the AIT principal, said their focus was on maintaining a green campus. Last year, we had decided to practice waste management and now we are a zero-garbage institute Patil said. The institute took various initiatives for energy conservation, use of renewable energy, water harvesting, carbon neutrality by installing solar panels and evaluating e-waste management.

Pune College of engineering, revises its curriculum after every four years while making a mandatory course on entrepreneurship and innovation in second and third year. he departments are also mandated to invite an industry expert to teach at least one course in one semester.
