The All India Council of Technical education (AICTE) has introduced 2500 new virtual internship under The Urban learning Internship programme (TULIP). The council has opened up to accept new applications via the official site, Internship.aicte-india.org. 

The programme aims to provide internships of up to one year for freshers with stipend of about Rs.12000 per month based on the performance and productivity. This internships are offered in association with Whitehat Jr., An E-learning Venture.

The applications for this internship are open to candidates with following qualification and requirements :

  • Second or third year graduation or diploma students.
  • Excellent communication skills in english and hindi.
  •  Availability of laptop and internet facility; and
  •  Other relevant skills and interests.

The TULIP programme is a initiative launced by ministry of education in collaboration with ministry of housing and urban affairs (MoHUA) in 2020. The portal is developed under AICTE and functions across all urban local bodies (ULBs) and smart cities in the country.

Students can apply for this internship within 18 months of completion of the graduation degrees like B.tech., B.Sc., B.Arch., B.Plan, etc. The ministry of education aims to create 1 crore successful internship opportunities for fresh graduates by the year 2025 and the programme will empower Digital India movement as well.

During the launch event of the portal, The Education ministry stated, “This launch is also an important stepping stone for fulfillment of MHRD and AICTE’s goal of one crore successful internships by the year 2025. The digital platform powering TULIP enables discovery, engagement, aggregation, amplification and transparency. Security features have been thoroughly tested and the platform has been made scalable, federated and transparent by design.”
