Looking at the ASER Reports, it was found that almost a quarter of school going children from Class 3 to 8 during 2011-17 will enroll themselves out by 2022, the main reason lies with financial limitations that restrict them to continue the education further.
To ease the burden over financial issues, the Government of India and private organizations established various scholarships exams like NTSE (National Talent Search Examination), AIPMST (All India Pre-Medical Scholarship Test), and MTSE- Maths Talent Search Examination (MTSE) etc. One such scholarship is the All India Scholarship Test Examination(AISTE) exam which provides various benefits to the students depending on their scores and financial assistance that is required.
AISTE is a scholarship exam, conducted by Ability Education Trust (accredited by Govt. of India) every year, for school students in India that helps deserving school students provide financial assistance. Recently, few regulations have been introduced in the exam pattern which includes online conduction of examination in only a few states.
For being eligible to appear for the scholarship examination the student should be studying in Class 4-12 at any educational institution approved by National regulatory bodies such as CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE, etc. and state boards and independent regulatory bodies like UP Board Of Madarsa Education etc.
This year, it has been observed that over 200 meritorious students will be appearing for AISTE, and over 62 meritorious students will receive the scholarship and rest of the top scorers will be given appreciation certificates and book-bank facilities. The awards apart from the scholarship involves:
AISTE All India Rank 1: ₹90,000
AISTE All India Rank 2: ₹70,000
AISTE All India Rank 3: ₹50,000
State Rank 1 (Any State): ₹30,000
Along with this, the national and state-toppers will also receive book-bank facilities for paying their library, stationery, and book expenses for one year. Also, 200 national level scorers of the examination will be provided with a scholarship of ₹5000. Top 1000 scorers will also be awarded appreciation certificates of merit.
The Examination will be conducted online at centers of each state, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh will be conducting the exam in offline mode in May 2019. The test will be conducted in the regional language format of English, Hindi, Marathi or Semi-English. The question paper will contain 120 questions. Out of them, 60 questions will be of mathematics, and 20 of English, science, and general knowledge each.
For applying to the scholarship examination, the candidates will be required to fill the application forms online, also the candidates will be required to pay an application fee of ₹249. Top 500 scorers of the examination will be reimbursed with the registration fee. The last date to apply for the examination is February 20, 2019.
