Malappuram Centre of Aligarh University, Kerela

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has appointed Dr. Faisal KP as new Officiating Director for its AMU Malappuram Centre, Kerela. The appointment of Dr. Faisal has been done after Kerala High Court lashed on AMU to set aside the appointment of KM Abdul Rasheed a week ago.

Indeed the appointment of Rasheed was discouraged after C.P V Vijayaraghavan filed a petition questioning on his qualification. The court observed the selection and appointment of Abdul Rasheed, giving predominance to a person, who does not have the minimum essential qualification, requires interference, hence his appointment was dismissed.

AMU was then asked by the HC to start the appointment afresh from the list of candidates, who had applied for the position.

About Director

Dr. Faisal is the senior most faculty member, who has been working in the Malappuram Centre since its inception in 2011.
