Theatre, art should be part of school curriculum: Venkaiah Naidu to HRD Ministry

“Medicine, Law, Business, Engineering are the noble pursuits and necessary to sustain a Life but Poetry, Beauty, Love, Romance, Art are what we stay alive for,” is a very famous and genuine quote from Dead Poets Society which means medicine and love are equally important as a person needs both to support and stay alive.
Even for the progress of any country science and culture are important, keeping that in mind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu asked the Human Resource Development Ministry to keep theatre and art in the school curriculum.

Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President and Speaker of Rajya Sabha was addressing during the Pradhan Mantri Innovative Learning Program -Dhruv where he said, “Theatre and art should be part of our school curriculum. I hope the HRD ministry will take up this task in the future,” with scientific revival and cultural renewal.

He added, “There is also a need to create permanent forums like science museums, science labs, dance and music courses and create the right conditions in schools, colleges and universities for the spirit of excellence and innovation to thrive.”

The program was also attended by the Human Resource Development minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ held at the Indian Scientific Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bengaluru.

Pradhan Mantri Innovative Learning Program Dhruv is a platform for students to attain perfection in the fields of performing arts, science and creative writing.
