Ashoka University, based in Sonepat, Haryana conducted its Convocation ceremony on May 17th this year. The ceremony was organised to cater degrees to 442 students in various Undergraduate and Post-Graduate programmes.
303 scholars were awarded undergraduate degrees in the fields of Art/Science. 116 young scholars, who successfully completed the fourth year of research and study. Among the total students, 23 received their Post-Graduate degrees on completion of Masters in Economics.
The prestigious speakers, who offered their words to the students were-
- Dr. Jonardon Ganeri- Professor of Philosophy, Arts and Humanities, New York University
- Dr. Gita Gopinath- Counselor and Director, Research Department, International Monetary Fund (IMF)
The convocation began with a formal academic procession and welcome address by Prof. Rudrangshu Mukherjee- Chancellor of Ashoka University, followed by the opening address by Dr. Pratap Bhanu Mehta, Vice-Chancellor.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Vanita Shastri- Dean of Global Education and Strategic Programmes.
