History:
The school is named after its benefactor, a philanthropist, John Baldwin of Bera, Ohio, USA. The name Baldwin holds its originality from German language meaning ‘Bold Winner’. The main objective behind this school was to provide schooling for English speaking Methodist children. Later the school was transferred to the vestry of the Richmond Town Methodist Church and placed under the Pastor, Rev. John Edward Robinson. In 1880, the school campus was formally started in Hosur Road, Bangalore. It is under the control & authority of the South India Regional Conference of the Methodist Church in India. The school is under the Chairmanship of Bishop Dr. Taranath Sagar.

Currently school has over 5000 students with a total of 225 teachers which makes it an ideal student-teacher ratio. Teachers are highly trained to impart quality education to the students.
