The Uttar Pradesh State Intermediate Board Exams concluded on March 2, 2019, after which it was found that over 6.52 lakh students did not appear for the examination. At the last day of the examination, which was the English Board Exam, it was found that almost 2019 students did not appear for the examination.

Looking at the previous year’s data, over 1.8 lakh students did not appear on the very first day of the examination, which included over 53,100 high schools.

Also, it was reported this year that the board has adopted strict security measures in order to prevent cheating during the conduction of the board exams.

“Till now 403 students were caught cheating with 11 on the last day of the examinations which includes 5 boys and six girls,” the board’s said in a press release.

Speaking about the students, the board caught while cheating during the exams, UPSEB secretary Neena Srivastava said, “It will be considered by the committee and if found guilty their result will be canceled.” The board lodged 68 FIRs in cases of untoward incidents at the time of the examinations, she added.

The various incidents of cheating, that were reported included, 17 people which included 14 invigilators during Class 12 Physics Examination in Muzzafarnagar.

According to the recent data recorded, over 58 lakh students registered for appearing for the board examination across the state.  “The results of Class 10, 12 examinations will be announced in the second or third week of April. The board will convey the exact date and time soon,” Srivastava said.

It was reported in 2018, that the results got declared on April 29, 2018, for both the Classes 10th and 12th. After the data for the results was recorded over 75.16% of students were reported to have passed.
