Punjab educational institutes to get free books on teachings of Guru Nanak Dev

The Punjab Government led by Captain Amarinder Singh has decided to introduce Books on Guru Nanak Sahab’s life and teachings to all higher educational institutes across the state. These books will be available free in the set of four.

As per the official statement, these books will be published by the Department of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs of the Department.

They will be authored by famous writers including ‘Coffee Table Book – The Golden Tree’ by   Padma Shari Dr. Surjit Patar and ‘Guru Nanak Bani-Path and Vyakhya’ by Dr. Ratan Singh Jaggi with their stories of Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Nanak Bani respectively.

Other Books like ‘Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji – Life and Relics’ by Professor Gurbir Singh and ‘Lonely Planet – Guru Nanak’s Blessed Trail’ by Pruneetinder Sidhu will be included as well which will follow Guru Nanak teachings and journey respectively.

‘These books are authored by the prominent scholars which are also a rich source of information for the research scholars and academicians,” said Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

These books will be sent in the Punjab Legislative Assembly Libraries and Parliament of India (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha).

Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the founder of Sikhism and first of the ten Gurus. He believed in one god and renounced the caste system with the faith that everyone is equal irrespective of caste or gender.
