According to the statement released by BSE president Jahan Ara Begum, he asserted that the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha has decided to conduct the Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) online.

“The OTET, which are held twice in a year, will henceforth be conducted online,” Begum said adding that the test that was canceled in January this year due to the question paper leak, will now be held in April this year after completion of the matriculation examination.

The BSE is responsible for conducting all state-level examinations along with the supplementary examinations.

OTET was introduced in the year 2012 for evaluating teacher’s ability for recruitment, the BSE has been holding the test, whereas this year on January 16, for the first time the test was conducted and over one lakh candidates appeared in over 250 centers, of which the images of teachers writing went viral, which led to the BSE canceling the whole examination.
