The Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) expelled 432 students for being caught cheating during the Class 12 Board exams this year. Over 13.15 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 Board Exams. The Exams ended on Saturday, February 16th, 2019.

Strict measures were taken by the Bihar Board for preventing different cases of cheating during Class 12 Exams. Those included instructing children to not wear shoes or socks to the examination hall and only slippers were allowed, the Board also prepared 10 sets of question papers to avoid cheating. Also, a team of invigilators was recruited to avoid prevent cheating.

Speaking of the cases identified this year, spokesperson, BSEB, Rajiv Dubey said, “The board had expelled a total of 432 students from class 12 exams and proper actions as per rules will be taken against them. There were 26 imposters pretending to be a student and appearing the exam on someone else’ behalf. We have caught them and will make sure that strict actions, even FIR, if necessary will be filed against them.”

It has been reported that similar security measures have been taken for conducting Class 10 Board exams, which are scheduled to be conducted from February 21, 2019, and will continue till February 28, 2019, in over 38 districts with 1,418 examination centers int he country. Over 16,60,609 students are reported to be appearing for the exam.

The Class 10 Board Exam will begin on February 21,  with morning shift starting at 9:30 a.m., while the afternoon shift to begin at 1:30 a.m. Candidates are instructed to arrive 10 minutes early at the examination center to avoid inconvenience.

However, to avoid the further inconvenience of ‘goof-ups’ during the exam for both classes, the Board postponed the Class 12 Exam and notified this right before the day Intermediate examination was to be conducted. The Board postponed the Matrabhasha (MB) examination, earlier which was scheduled to be conducted along with Rashtrabhasha (NRB) examination, both of these are language papers conducted for 50 marks each, on February 14, 2019.
