BSEB Introduces New Evaluation Process

This year the conduct of board examination has been proposed very sincerely. The state boards are rendering full efforts to give justified results for the hard work of students. Where on one hand CBSE increased the passing criteria upto 33% and introduced 11 optional questions on the other BSEB strict the examination rules by imposing security measures around the school during the examination.

The results of BSEB class 10th are in spotlight these days. The experts are presuming the declaration of matrix result by 15th April this year but the board hasn’t uttered a word in against or favour of the presumptuous statement.

Though Bihar Board has recently introduced a new procedure for the evaluation of the board exam answer sheets, to get the result sooner and justifiably. The answer sheets will be evaluated by tech-driven initiative.

Changes made in evaluation process-

  • Lenient and step-wise marking released for evaluation.
  • Teachers have been trained for new marking system.
  • Each evaluation centre will have three computer operators, which are trained in software developed exclusively for board.
  • Answer sheets will have bar-code scanning system to curb cheating.
  • Upto 30% of incentives will be provided to the teachers, whose checked answer sheets will not come back for the scrutiny checking.

BSEB Chairman, Anand Kishore shared, “All original answer sheets will be scanned and sent to strongrooms. Evaluators will get virtual answer sheets and get a tabulation sheet to enter marks against each question attempted. If a student attempts more than permitted questions, extra permitted answers would be automatically declared invalid by the system.”

Total 16.6 lakh students appeared in Bihar Board 10th exam this year held from 21-29 Feb.

According to Scrool.in and Firstpost., ‘The evaluation process was over by March 28 and the toppers have been called for verification of their handwriting and IQ’ for no further misconduct as previously happened in the year 2016.
