The result for CA Final and CPT was announced by the ICAI on Tuesday, this week. The result, this year, is better than the last one, as claimed by the sources. But even though, there might be some, who are unsatisfied with the result. For those, the window for revaluation and verification is open.

As the candidate holds a chance to call for the revaluation and verification process, in case s/he does not wish the answer sheet to be disclosed, there is an option of disclosing and inspection of answer sheets, in effect since November 2011.

Process for Revaluation of answer sheets

Although there is no standard procedure/application form for applying for revaluation of marks of either of CA exams, candidates can submit a handwritten application to the institute in their own handwriting clearly stating:

  • Roll No. (As per indicated in the exam’s Admit Card)
  • Student registration number
  • Paper(s) to e verified
  • Examination taken (CPT, PCC, IPCC or Final)
  • Address for contact

Only when this application is submitted, the verification process can start. The application is supposed to written in the medium the exam is taken in, viz. Hindi language if exam is taken in Hindi, and same in English medium. The candidate must sign with requisite fee paid by DD. The request must be made with the period of a month of declaration of results. Candidates must avoid writing their contact numbers and e-mail IDs when sending such verification request. Printed copies get rejected.

Candidates can also make the request online at icaiexam.icai.org. Here, a scanned copy of the handwritten application is required to be submitted with above listed information. The payment can be done in the form of Debit/Credit Card.

Fee for revaluation of marks for IPCC and Final is Rs. 100/- per paper subject to a maximum of Rs. 400/- for all papers of a group. For CPT, fee for revaluation is Rs. 200. It is to be remitted by way of Demand draft in favour of “The Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India” and payable at New Delhi.

Process for Verification of marks

The following are covered in the process of verification:

  • Where the answer book compilation is complete
  • Whether any question or part thereof has remained un-valued
  • If there is a totaling error anywhere in the answer sheet or cover page
  • If there is any error in marking or copying of marks on the cover page
  • Whether the handwriting og the candidate is same in all answer scripts

Along with the requisite DD, the application must be sent to “The Additional Secretary (Exam), ICAI Bhavan, Post Box No. 7112, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110 002”
