The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed that few changes are made in the exam mode, pattern and syllabus of the Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) 2021.

By issuing an official notice, CBSE has mentioned that the CTET exam will now be held by online mode. Also, The exam is scheduled to be conducted in December 2021 or January 2022.

CBSE has said that the changes are being made as an effort to enhance the quality of a candidate appearing for the exam along with maintaining the standards of teaching profession in our education system.

The introduction of online mode for exams will also help the teachers to get more familiar with the modern technology used for digital learning and will make them computer literates.

On the other hand, shifting to online mode will prevent the over-usage of paper as the Board will not need to print any question papers and OMR sheets which are necessarily required for the exams.

The Board has also revised the syllabus for CTET exam. The new syllabus focuses more on promoting ideas and practices related to teaching and learning process which are more useful in the schools.

On the basis of this revised syllabus, CBSE will release a detailed assessment policy, sample blueprints, and sample questions papers which will help the aspiring candidates while preparing for the CTET Exam.

The new syllabus will also help CBSE to evaluate the candidate on various aspects like understanding of subject, pedagogic content knowledge and use of concept-specific methodologies.

CBSE will offer the candidates to attempt online mock tests at CBSE’s facilitation centres in respective districts before the actual exam so that they can get comfortable with the new mode.

However, the Board has not released any application form and exam dates for CTET 2021 yet. Candidates are advised to keep a regular check on the official website of CBSE for any further updates.
