The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to introduce Artificial Intelligence and Yoga as new subjects for students studying in CBSE affiliated Schools. The students will be given the option of a 6th Subject for Class 9 commencing April 2019. CBSE has also introduced Early Childhood Care Education.
The CBSE circular says, “To enhance the multidisciplinary approach in teaching learning and also to sensitize the new generation, it was decided that School may start AI “Inspire module” of 12 hours at Class VIII itself.”
CBSE will also be offering Class 10 students option for Sixth Exam to be conducted along with other important five subjects, the rule says that the student needs to clear three elective subjects including Science, Mathematics, and Social Science and can be replaced by the Sixth Skill Paper and Result will be based on five subjects.
CBSE also urged schools to offer at least one Skills subject. The schools are required to send applications for introducing skill subject by March 31, 2019.
