On Saturday, in collaboration with Central Square Foundation the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), has released the ‘Teacher Energized Manuals’ (TERM). This is a series of manuals for the teachers of science and maths of classes 6 to 10. From Diksha portal or the official website of CBSE, the manuals can be downloaded . The objective of the TERM is aiding teachers in aligning their transactions of classroom to a competency framework.
The TERM manual read as “Every single chapter of the resource manual corresponds to the different chapters in the textbooks of NCERT. With the chunks of the concepts, the chapters have been made easy with these concepts. The concepts have been linked to the NCERT Learning Outcome. For each of the concept, an attempt has been made to delineate Learning Objectives. Each of the chapter have a set of assessment items, where two items have been provided as examples for each Learning Objective. Teachers can take help of these to assess if the learner has acquired the related concept” .
Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank who is the education minister has tweeted that “For teachers teaching these subject, these are must-read manuals in order to familiarise themselves with Learning Outcomes based teaching and learning. These manuals can be accessed at DIKSHA and CBSE Academic Website http://cbseacademic.nic.in/term.html,” .
