Centre’s education schemes helped in promoting holistic development of children: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the Ekal Vidyalaya Sanghatan, Gujarat through Video Conferencing on Friday congratulated the organization for their efforts on ‘Ekal School Abhiyan’, working towards promoting education among rural and tribal children. PM Narendra Modi said, “Several Schemes launched by the central government in the field of education have helped out in checking school dropout rates along with promoting the holistic development of children.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the volunteers for their efforts in ‘Nation-Building’ by spreading awareness and education to more than 2.8 million students in the tribal and rural areas of the remotest places in the country and Nepal. The ‘Ekal Vidyalaya Sanghatan’ runs one-teacher schools ‘Ekal Vidhyalayas’ across the country.

Government is working for the education of tribal children

The Prime Minister said, “The Central government is working for better education and skill development of India with schemes such as scholarships for Scheduled Tribe Children, Mission Indradhanush, Poshan Abhiyan, Eklavya Model Residential Schools and school holidays on the occasion of tribal festivals. These have helped in checking school dropout rates by promoting the holistic development of children.”

PM congratulates the Sangathan on reaching 1 Lakh schools across India

He later congratulated the ‘Sangathan’ on completing one lakh school across the country and said working with devotion, desire and commitment can turn any impossible goal into an achievable goal.

He stressed on ‘Sanathan’ being awarded with Gandhi Peace Prize due to its commitment towards social service and acting as a role model for the whole country.

PM suggested the idea of National Level Competitions in 2022

PM Modi said, ‘Sangathan’ should encourage its students to organize skits, debates, discussions and musical competitions to highlight the role of tribes in the Indian Freedom movement on the upcoming 75th Independence day in 2022.

He suggested all-encompassing national level competitions in 2022 along with a ‘Khel-Mahakhumbh’ (Sports Fiesta) of traditional Indian Sports.

PM shares the Concept of pairing private and public schools

He proposed pairing private and public schools where students can learn from each other, which will boost the idea of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ (One India, Best India).

He remembered BR Ambedkar on his Death Anniversary

He reminded the audience that the day coincides with the death anniversary of “Father of Indian Constitution’ BR Ambedkar. He emphasized that ‘Ekal Sangathan’ has succeeded in fulfilling Baba Saheb’s dream of imparting equal education to boys and girls.
