Central Board of Secondary Education activated Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CBSE CTET 2018) online application forms on 1st August. Aspiring candidates can apply by logging onto their official website (ctet.nic.in). The last date for submitting the completed application form is 27th August 2018 while the fees can be paid anytime before 30th August, 3:30 pm.

The 11th edition of CTET will be conducted in 20 languages across India. While the examination dates are yet to be revealed, timings of the papers are available. Paper I and Paper II are scheduled to start at 9:30 am and 2:00 pm, respectively. Candidates preparing for the exam must log onto ctet.nic.in for important updates, deadlines, and registration procedures.

Union HRD Chief Minister Prakash Javadekar tweeted this directive on 18th June:

“CTET examination will be held in all Indian languages. It will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bangla, Garo, Gujarati, Kannada, Khasi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan, and Urdu.”

This directive followed the controversy that erupted after CBSE decided to exclude as many as 17 languages, including Malayalam, Gujarati, Tamil, Bengali, and Kannada from the NET list of options.
