The Government of delhi has decided to cancel the final exams for Class 9th and 11th in academic session 2020-21. Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia made this announcement during a live press conference. The state government will soon release a official notification regarding cancellation of exams and evaluation of students.

The Annual exams for class 9 and 11 were postponed since April 12 and April 15 respectively. But they now stands to be cancelled as government is unable to find favourable conditions for holding exams in the view of second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Although Delhi has seen a dip in active cases since few days, but still holding exams is risky.

During the press conference, Mr. manish sisodia said that private schools which have already conducted the mid-term as well as annual exams before lockdown can declare the results. However, the government or private schools which were unable to hold annual exams will evaluate the students only on the basis of mid-term exam results.

In such cases where the school did not even conducted mid-term exams or students were not able to attend them, schools will have to tabulate results on the basis of performance in best two subjects. All the students will be marked as ‘Pass’ for promoting to next classes. Marksheet will be prepared with scores in each individual subject.

The government has also made a provision for such students who either attempted only 1 or 2 papers in mid-term exams or did not appear at all. All such students will be given an additional chance to appear in exams so that they can be evaluated on a fair basis. However this exams will not be conducted in physical manner.

The results for class 9 and 11 of Government schools in Delhi will be declared on June 22. students will be able access their results on the official website of the education board or via SMS and WhatsApp. No schools are permitted to call students within the campus for physical declaration of results.
