Happiness Curriculum Launch Day by Delhi Governemnt

After the National launch of Happiness Curriculum and Pilot Project, Delhi government is all set to deepen the relations internationally by launching the Global SEE Learning Project in India to enrich the Indian Education. Its a three day long event being launched in Delhi, which is about to start today on 4th April and will end by 6th April, 2019.

About the Programme 

SEE (Social, Emotional and Ethical) Learning promotes the cultivation of compassion and ethics in the classroom. The SEE curriculum aims to bring the ‘secular ethics’ in the classroom for the students of Kindergarten to class 12th. The kids, under the program will be given attention training and shared positive endeavor through cultivation of compassion for self and others, resilience skills based on trauma-informed care, system thinking and ethical discernment.

Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, Co-Director, Emory Collaborative for Contemplative studies stated, ” There is a growing awareness of the effects of stress on young  people and there is a need to incorporate social, emotional and ethical learning into standard K-12 academic curricula to address the needs of the whole child.”

“Scientific Research has shown that ethical development, alongside social and emotional learning contributes to a student’s physical, psychological and social well-being, helping them to succeed not just academically, but in life,” Negi added.

Global Partnership

The Emory University known one amongst Atlanta’s prominent Universities, has partnered up with The Dalai Lama Trust and Vana Foundation of India to launch a self-initiated program in the Indian schools’ premises. The program, developed in 2015 in-house campus of the University, already has a big reach globally in North and South America, East Asia and Europe.

“Delhi’s Education Minister and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia went through the SEE Learning Curriculum and was keen to adopt some of the activities practiced in the program, to enrich their existing (Happiness) Curriculum,” said Geshe Lhakdor Negi.
