Statistics Ministry Announces Essay Competition In February

We all are familiar with the phrase – Pen is mightier than the sword and if you want to change the world, pick up your name and write. Writing is a powerful way to express love, happiness, hatred, pain, and unrest. Writing can connect people across the globe and beyond. Even the Indian government encourages its citizens for essay writing with National Level competitions starting with the start of the year 2020.

Statistics and Program Implementation Ministry led by DV Sadananda Gowda has announced Essay Writing Competition 2020 on February 23, 2020. The topic of the essay competition will be on the subjects related to Statistics for Postgraduate students across the country.

The last date to apply for the competition is January 20, 2020, where the candidate has to submit two copies offline at the Ministry Office through the post. The candidate on the day of the competition will be given two topics and they will have to write on one of them in 5000 words within 3 hours.

The champions will receive cash prizes with the first winner acquiring ₹15000, second winner ₹12,000 and third winner ₹10,000 along with the consolation prizes of ₹5000 to 5 candidates. The winners will be announced on June 29, 2020 – commonly known as the Statistics Day.
