The directorate of education (DoE), Delhi has declared the results for students in Class 9 and 11 of the schools affiliated with NCR Government. However, the annual exams of this classes were cancelled two months ago due to the unfavourable situations created by Second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

The results has been prepared by the directorate using an alternate evaluation criteria. This evaluation policy tabulated the marks of individual student on the basis of their performance in Mid-term exams and internal assessments conducted by schools through out the year via different modes.

According to the stats presented by Directorate of Education, around 2.45 lakh students appeared in the mid-term exams for Class 9 while the total number of enrolled students in Class 9 for 2021 was 2.58 lakh. The results are kept on hold for students who failed to appear in more then one mid-term exams and will be discussed later.

Such students will be either marked as unqualified and will have to repeat Class 9 or will have to appear in compartment exams if they are held by the government later. Despite this, the pass percentage in class 9 has raised to 80.3 percent as compared to last year which was only 65 percent. However, this could be because of the project-based assessment.

Similarly according to the government, the pass percentage of Class 11 is 96.9 percent. 1.65 lakh students have passed the class out of 1.69 who appeared for the mid-term exams. While the total number of students enrolled for Class 11 was 1.70 lakh. The evaluation criteria for class 11 was identical to that of Class 9.

The officials of DoE has said that all students who remain unqualified due to any reason will be eligible to appear in the reassessment. This assessment could be based on project work, assignments, class-based test or any other methods. The Directorate will soon release detailed guidelines for this assessments.
