St. Stephens College of Delhi University has released its first cut-off list and the cut-off has a slight drop ( 0.25 to 1 percent) conditioned according to the streams of the aspirants.

With English (Hons.) owning the highest cut-off, for commerce students, it is 98.5% (99% last year) and for Humanities and Science, 97.5% and 97% respectively. For Economics (Hons), cut-off is 98.5 for commerce and 97.5% for both Humanities and Science students. It is the cut-off for History (Hons), which has seen a decrease of 0.75 percentage point for students from all streams — 97.75% for Commerce, 96% for Humanities and 97% for Science students.

The student must make the cut-off as a result of best-of-four subjects, where s\he must score a minimum of 90% in Maths in order to get qualified for the phase two, which is the aptitude test, then followed by the final phase of interview.

With  St. Stephens introducing a drop in the cut-off, it is expected that there might be subsequent drop in the cut-offs of other DU colleges as well.

As per a senior professor at the college, the reason behind this dip is to give more students the opportunity. With the earlier cut-off, there were 4 candidates per seat where, now with the dip in cut-off, there will be 7 candidates per seat.
