DU (Delhi University) has confirmed the agency, which will be conducting the entrance exam on the behalf of the university this year. NTA (National Testing Agency), which had given nod already to DU to conduct their entrance exam, however the permission was not yet approved by the Standing Committee of Delhi University.

According to the official sources of NTA, both the organisations (NTA and DU) had a discussion and they have confirmed likely to collaboratively conduct the entrance exam of UG, PG, M.Phil and PhD in June.

Due to the reason of the delay in finalising the agency, the admission process of this year has been hanged for 1 month. The university is giving dates for start of applications since end week of last month but hasn’t still confirmed the date.

Though, it is likely that DU may start the admission process from May 31st. Earlier the expected dates for the commencement of admission process were- 21st April, 15th May, 21st May, 24th May, 27th May and now 30th May.

Actually, previously DU had decided to hire a private agency to conduct the entrance exam like last year and had also opened the tender for it but due to some reasons it got stuck. Hence, further DU decided to hire NTA, which is an autonomous agency of MHRD. This whole process created a delay in the admission registration.

Rajeev Gupta, DU Student’s Welfare Dean stated that both the NTA and DU have given approval to conduct the entrance exam by this agency. Though, a bit of discussion is left on some points but it will get finalised soon. However, the students will not have to wait much longer, the admission process will commence soon early from 30th May or 1st June.

An NTA official has declared that the NTA will conduct the entrance exam for the similar courses as last year. He said, it is likely that both DU and NTA will be conducting the entrance exam in June end. NTA will approve the decision if DU will be demanding to increase the exam centres. The exam was conducted in 18 cities last year.
