On Friday, the students of political science of Delhi University’s  were left baffled as during their online open book exam they received a mock examination paper instead of the real paper .

According to the final year students of BA (Honours) Political Science, they said that when they logged into the portal at 11.30 am, they found a question paper and they started answering it. Later, they realised that it was the same paper that was given to them during mock exams.

They have also claimed that at 12 pm the correct question paper was uploaded.

One of the students, requesting anonymity, has stated that, “I received a question paper on mail which I attempted from 11:30 am and was able to mail the same to [email protected] by 3:32 pm. As I was writing my paper I did not check my phone during the entire time.”

Sharing the same grievance, another student of Kalindi College wrote to the varsity. A student wrote that “The area I reside in has network issues so after downloading the question paper I logged out from the portal. When I again logged in to the portal for uploading my answer sheet I found that there was changed in the question paper”.

In School Of Open Learning, the students of BA Programme  reported that they again they received question papers of two different subjects. Later the university wrote to them that students must only attempt the paper they opted for.

According to Balaram Pani, who is the Delhi University’s Dean of Colleges , he stated that additional time was provided to the students  for finishing their answers. When raised a question, what will happen to the all the students who appeared the mock exam question paper, he stated that the Grievance Committee will be looking into it and the students will be given a second chance.

Another official from the varsity stated that on Friday, over one lakh students appeared for the exam. The varsity said that in the view of the COVID-19 situation for the students of final year it has opted for the online open book examinations as a one-time measure.
