The Delhi University told the High Court that the final year exams for all undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including the School of Open Learning and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board will be conducted from August 17. The exam will be in the form of Online Open Book Examinations (OBE) mode.

The university stated that “These examinations shall begin on August 17, 2020, and shall conclude on September 8, 2020.”

The fresh dates were announced after the High court instructed the university to file an affidavit containing the information of the schedule of final year examinations. The exams were postponed to post August 15 due to covid-19 pandemic.

The affidavit holds information as on how the university proposes to conduct the exams along with its schedule. This shall provide a clarity to the students.

The university gave the date sheet for the its undergraduate students and yet to provide the sheet for the post-graduate programmes and professional courses. This shall be submitted on or before July 20.

The university added to the note that “For such students who are unable to appear in the examinations in OBE mode remotely, scheduled to begin from August 17, 2020, it has been decided to conduct an additional phase of examinations through online/ offline/ blended mechanism, for the purpose of providing another opportunity to the students. This additional opportunity is being afforded as a one-time measure in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and is elaborated hereunder.”

The first round of mock tests will be held from July 31 to brush up the concepts with the students. “There shall be three sessions of mock tests per day. The schedule will be notified at least one week before the commencement of the mock tests (on or before July 24, 2020),” the university adds to the statement.

It further stated that the first phase of mock tests will start from July 31, to familiarise students with the new procedures, and will continue up to August 4.
