The Government schools in Delhi will not charge any fees until STD 12th. The Government of Delhi decided to scrap the Educational fees to all the Government school and would not charge any fees until standard 12th. Education Minister Manish Sisodia addressed in a meeting chaired along with the City Education Department.

Earlier the Department would charge RS 20 per month to STD 9th to 12th. Sisodia has directed Secretary Education to submit a proposal to scrap the fee as collection and maintenance of record is a very cumbersome process.
Education till class 8 in government schools across the national capital is already free. Sisodia also directed the senior officials of the Department of Education to give top priority to the grievance of teachers.
“He (Sisodia) said that teachers need to be supported and any task which takes their time away from teaching-learning activities should be reduced by simplifying the process and using appropriate technology,” according to the statement.
