The Ministry of Education along with the Department of School Education and Literacy has developed an online module to accumulate and compile data of students which are out-of-school. This data will be gathered from each state and union territory of the country.

The aim of this module is to identify and report such students of age group 6 to 18 which lack enough economical resources to attend schools and are from socially underprivileged families. Children belonging to such backgrounds are kept away from the basic education which they need.

The policy of data accumulation is designed as a part of the Right to Education Act. The policy and online module is brought in action as an implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The education department will use this data to track And re-enroll most of such students.

The well-compiled data will act as a accurate source to facilitate admissions of students on the basis of their age and primary education to next classes in schools. While the Online module will function as the common platform to upload and verify details of out-of-school childrens.

For children under the age group of 16 to 18 years, the government will provide financial support in the current academic session 2021-22. The centre will ensure their uninterrupted education by enrolling them in either open, in-school or distance learning modes offered in government-aided schools.

The union education minister Dr. Ramesh pokhriyal nishank made this announcement via his official Twitter handle. In the tweet, he mentioned that Indian government’s top-most priority is to take care of every student of the nation. Hence the education ministry has developed the online data compiling module.

Dr. Nishank in his tweet also wrote that the data identified by each state or UT will be mapped with special training centres (STC) on the PRABANDH portal. The uploading of data at block level will be supervised by a block source coordinator appointed by the district magistrate.
