As per the announcement made by Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Ministry of Education has sanctioned funds of Rs. 7622 Crore to States and Union Territories (UTs) so far in the session 2021-22. This amount is released under the Samagra Siksha Scheme.

The funds provided to states and UTs are to ensure the continuity of various initiatives under the scheme. States will use this amount to provide free uniform and textbooks, teachers salary, online education, vocational courses, functioning of KGBVs and maintain the working of other initiatives.

Dr. Nishank took over his official twitter handle to share the announcement. He also mentioned other details in a series of tweets. He wrote that the PRABANDH portal was launched last year by education ministry as an action towards the moto of indian government, which is ease of governance.

The portal enables the states to submit annual plans under the samagra siksha schemes which are further approved in the PAB meetings. The automatic compilation system of the portal has made it easy for the states to submit, review and appraise the plans even from remote locations.

The portal also generates consolidated recommendations and value efficient cost sheets as per the demands of states and presents it in a comprehensive manner which makes it easy for the ministry to approve funds according to the plans. This process would be difficult if done in physical manner.

The primary aim of Samagra Siksha Scheme is to meet the final goal of sustainable development for education sector and provide quality education for every student. The scheme ensure to bridge social and gender gaps in the indian education system and maintains the equality at all levels.

The Samagra Siksha Program is combined of three schemes that are Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE). This schemes enables flexibility to states planning their objectives and criteria annually to propose requirement of funds.
