Following CBSE and CISCE, Rajasthan board set to reduce syllabus

The Rajasthan board has decided to cut-short the syllabus for the upcoming year. This decision has come into picture after CBSE and CISCE have reduced their syllabus. State Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra tweeted with this regard. The state board and Rajasthan State Council of Education Research and Teaching (RSCERT) have been informed with this decision.

The Minister tweeted in Hindi that “Due to corona, working days have reduced for schools and hence keeping in mind students’ interests, the Secondary Education Directorate has directed Secondary Education Board, Ajmer and RSCERT Udaipur in this regard. A final decision will be taken very soon”.

The CSBE board has decided to remove redundant topics from the syllabus and reduce about one-third of its content.

This came into realisation after the board planned to remove chapters in an ‘ideologically driven’ move.

The CBSE and the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal clarified that the topics were exempted as a one-time measure only. Also, these topics will be taught in class and will not be included in the exams.

All the topics have been included Alternative Academic Calendar developed by NCERT.

The Rajasthan board published the class 12 Science results yesterday and the class 10 results is yet to be published soon.
