Union Minister of Human Resource Development Ministry Prakash Javadekar confirms on Thursday that the Govt. will introduce Four-year integrated B.Ed program (Bachelors of Education) from the next session to enhance the standard of education.

Addressing the principals of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas on the last day of the two-day conference, the Minister asserts “We are going to launch a four-year integrated course from next year. The standard of teaching has gone down because it tends to be last option for those who join. This should be first choice. This should be a professional choice, not some leftover.”

B. Ed course will be conducted in three streams namely BA, B.Com and B.Sc.

The Curriculum has been reframed by the National Council for Teacher Education, an apex body responsible for coordinating teacher education.

The Course will be implemented for high-school graduates and not for the graduates who will have to invest two more years after graduation.
