The 5 courses approved among them, 4 are from Television wing and 1 is from Film Wing of FTII

FTII (Film Television Institute of India), one of the prestigious film institutes of India has recently got a premier recognition from AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

FTII was seeking approval from AICTE for its 5 existing courses in Television and Film Wing and the approval has been granted by the council under its newly created ‘Applied Arts and Crafts’ category.

Among them all 4 television wing courses have received approval namely – Direction, Electronic Cinematography, Video Editing & Sound Recording and TV Engineering. The remaining 1 among them is in film wing, which is- Feature Film Screenplay Writing.

After getting this technical recognition by AICTE the FTTI has become first film institute in India to receive such pleasure.

“This is a historic moment for the FTII to have received AICTE approval for all 5 PG Certificate courses. This makes the FTII the first film school in India to receive this recognition,” said Chairman of FTII Governing Council, Brijendra Pal Singh.

Other Courses offered by FTII 

Apart from the 5 approved courses, the other offered under film wing are- Direction & Screenplay Writing, Cinematography, Editing, Sound Recording & Sound Design, Art Direction and Production Design and Screen Acting.

AICTE is a national level-council for technical education, run under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The council is responsible for proper planning and co-ordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India.
