FYJC admission 2017: Error-ed Mumbai, Pune merit list, corrected to be out on July 10

The provisional merit list for the First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions 2017 had been released by the School Education and Sport Department of Maharashtra for both Mumbai and Pune on Tuesday. July 10 is the date the final list is scheduled to come out. Aspirants may log on to the official website to check the result.

Where there were about 2,065 students who scored 95% and above last year, the number has grown up to 2,584 this year. Despite this increase, the students scoring in the 90s have declined to 13,575 from 14,589 last year.

The education officials say that  about 1000 students filled incorrect information during the application process due to which there are errors in the merit list where students scoring lower marks in the SSC boards have been given higher ranks as compared to others. The correction facility has been kept open by the department till 5 pm on July 6 in order to give enough chance to the students to correct the mistakes in their forms.

Managing more than 20 million students and over 6 lakh teachers, the School Education Department is responsible for administration of elementary, secondary and higher secondary education in the state. The updated and corrected list is scheduled to be available on Friday and the admission process through the first merit list will commence from July 10 to July 13, 2017.
