Many want to live the dream of getting educated by playing fun and thrilling games. Given to the grand IT industry of India, this dream will shape into reality in the upcoming four years. Indicated by a Google Survey, studying trends have already changed to a great extend, online and offline.

In layman’s words, Gamification is the practice of applying game mechanics of fun, collaboration, competition and rewards in non-game situations. The global market for gamification in education is estimated to reach $ 10 billion by 2020.

With more Edutech organisations coming up, Gamification has already been trending in India among service providers. Some leading players have already launched applications that combine videos, games and simulations in the primary and secondary supplemental education space to train children.

The working of gamification isn’t troublesome too, according to studies.  The Google-KPMG study talks about simulation to explain concepts, quizzes, peer comparison and interactive lab experiments.

To prepare for tests, a gaming route will be approached where concepts such as leader board, badges, discounts and prizes will be granted according to the overall performance.

To engage more with the language students and students of casual learning, gaming concepts will be introduced to unlock new features at every level. Just the way highly engaging games form elite form on the basis of performance, the same way, these games will perform too.

This concept will bridge the gap between the online and offline forum of education. Considering the Google-KPMG study, offline education in india hasbecome more expensive in a grand fashion by 175% from 2008-2014, many want an alternative platform which isn’t much expensive. Online education’s boost might as well be that alternative in the near future.

Online skill enhancement courses are currently around 53% cheaper than offline alternatives. The shift to online and online-offline blended education is also getting a big boost thanks to the exponential growth of internet penetration in India. Studies have concluded that there will be nearly 735 million internet users by 2021.
