On Wednesday, the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) has made an announcement that on November 21 and 22, prior to the computer-based recruitment test (CBRT) for junior scale officer (JSO) posts, a screening examination will be held .

GPSC chairman Jose Manuel Noronha stated that on March 29, the examination had been scheduled to be held but was postponed in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Adding on to more information he stated that ” On November 21 and 22 to determine candidates qualified to take the main CBRT and in order to expedite the recruitment, a screening examination would be conducted by the commission”.

Noronha stated that in January this year for 22 JSO posts that were advertised the commission had received around 3,600 applications. The commission has decided to introduce a screening examination prior to the main JSO CBRT, considering the pandemic as well as the social distancing norms.

He also added that on November 28, for candidates who are unable to clear this exam in the first attempt, only those who score up to five per cent less than the minimum required marks to qualify in their category, will be allowed to sit for a repeat exam.

For the main CBRT, candidates who clear the screening exam can sit. For any kind of further information candidates can visit the GPSC website.
