The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has collaborated with Google to train the teachers in India. Facebook has also decided to invest $1 million for training the teachers in the distance learning. This duo aims to train around 1 million teachers in 22,000 schools across the country. Google also plans to improve the infrastructural facilities and takes other alternatives for those schools which lack the digital infrastructural facilities.

The course will enable them to blend the classroom teaching with the online methodologies. This will focus on using the free tools such as G Suite for Education, Google Classroom, YouTube and others. As a part of the Global Distance Learning Fund, Sapna Chadha, Senior Country Marketing Director, Southeast Asia and India, Google, said that they will be granting $1 million Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF) to aid the low-income groups.

The Kaivalya Education Foundation (KEF) will cordially work with the Central Square Foundation and TeacherApp and will be training around 700,000 teachers in virtual education. This will help them to deliver quality rich content efficiently. They shall communicate through televisions and radio channels if smartphones and internet connections are not available.

This initiative is a part of the Rs 75,000 crores investment that Google plans to invest in digitizing the Indian economy. The investment is scheduled to occur over a period of 5 to 7 years, as said by Google. The organisation aims to provide the digital access of education and deliberating the information in the possible Indian languages.

The Union HRD Minister has asked the Google to extend its services in all the 22 Indian languages. This will grant more access to the students to take part in the education. The minister expressed his gratitude and said that Sundar Pichai has made the country proud.

The Google would likely invest the funds in uplifting technology and AI for social good, digital literacy, outbreak predictions, building new products and services, etc.
