The government, in order to enhance the research education in the country, has implemented various schemes like Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna and Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) which provides financial and infrastructural assistance to the research aspirants.
Along with them, many research fellowships and scholarships have been provided to the aspirants which include:
- ICMR-DHR International Fellowships for Young Indian Biomedical Scientists 2019
The Indian Council of Medical Research and Department of Health Research has offered fellowship programs for Indian Biomedical scientists to provide financial assistance for pursuing projects which require research.
For being eligible to apply for the fellowship, the candidate must hold an MS, MD or Ph.D. Degree in health and biomedical research fields, along with 3 years of experience.
The Interested candidates can fill the application form at the official website of ICMR till February 28.
Under this fellowships, the candidate will be assisted with a duration of 6-12 months for performing the research for certain projects, along with a monthly stipend of $3000, airfare expenses, and a contingency grant of $50000.
- Pearson Research Funding 2019, University of Warwick, UK
Pearson PLC and the University of Warwick, United Kingdom has announced a fellowship in the field of research in language assessment and pedagogy. Under this, the students are provided with Pearson Academic data for deriving solutions for language assessments applicable globally.
For being eligible to apply for this fellowship, the candidate must be language enthusiasts who are faculty members, doctoral students, and freelance researchers.
The Applications must be submitted via email to official address till February 28.
The Candidates will be provided with a fellowship amount of GBP2000 to GBP30000 differently depending on each fellow on the basis of research duration and quality of merit.
- The Gen Foundation Scholarship Grant 2019
The Gen Foundation Scholarship has been offered by Japan for graduates in the field of natural sciences like Food Sciences or Technology to initiate cross-cultural academics.
For being eligible the candidate must hold a bachelors degree and should be pursuing research in the fields of Food Sciences or Technology.
The candidate has to submit the applications offline at the Gen Foundation offices in London till February 28, 2019.
This scholarship will provide a grant of GBP 500 to GBP 5000 depending on the merit of the project proposal.
It has been observed that India Ranks 6th for spending money on research and development activities around the world at US$66.5 billion per year (approx). However, the per capita expenditure of the nation is still falling even lower than the top 50 countries.
Hence, there was an immediate need for such scholarships and fellowships for enhancing the talent of meritorious students and making them a national asset.
