The Fee Regulatory Committee (technical), Gujarat on Wednesday announced a list of 43 institutes for which it has fixed fee structure for academic year 2019-2020.

The list is only for new institutes set up over the last two years. They includes 23 college that began their academic activities from 2018-19 and others that began their operations this year, according to a statement by FRC.

Of the 20 institutes, barring couple of colleges, the fee structure remained unchanged.

The two colleges whose maximum ceiling limit of fee structure was hiked include School of Pharmacy, Parul University, Waghodia and Parul Institute of Technology the fees have been revised from Rs 35,000 in 2018-19 to Rs 40,000 for 2019-20.

Parul group’s pharmacy college had proposed a hike of Rs 75,000 while its diploma institute had proposed a fee hike of Rs 17,000 as compared to last year’s fee structure.

Vadodara Institute of Architecture did not propose any change in fee of Rs 85,000 of its B.Arch programme.

Three institutes affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU) also did not propose any change in fee.

Other institutes which include School of Engineering, Indrashil University, Bhagwan Mahavir College of Pharmacy and Khyati School of Engineering proposed fee hikes in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 1 lakh for different programmes. They were all turned down by FRC.

In the case of the 23 new institutes that started their courses this year, the new committee has fixed the range from Rs 32,000 and Rs 1,07,000.

The new colleges include Vidush Somany Institute of Technology and Research, Kadi for its BE/BTech courses (Rs 75,000), Gyanmanjari Pharmacy College, Bhavnagar for BPharm studies (Rs 70,000), Navrachana University, School of Engineering and Technology for ME/MTech courses (Rs 1,07,000) and Apollo Institute of Engineering & Technology, Ahmedabad for diploma engineering studies (Rs 32,000), among others.
