The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) on Tuesday (June 11th) has announced that all the practical as well as theory exams that were scheduled in June 12th (Wednesday) and June 13th (Thursday) have been cancelled.

The cancellation is been followed due to the wake of the severe cyclonic storm warning flagged by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The recent update has told that Cyclone Vayu will hit the parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat early on Thursday morning.

Though the exam that is to take place on June 14th will be held on the similar date.

The revised schedule of these two exams would soon be announced, said University officials. “It depends on the situation that unfolds over the next two days.”

Currently nearly 50,000 students of Bachelors of Engineering, Semester-1 and Diploma Semester-2, are taking their exams, across 5 zones.

Even Shurashtra University has taken a similar decision. “In the wake of the order issued by the Rajkot district collector, holiday has been declared on June 12th-13th across all colleges affiliated with the varsity. The post-graduate exams conducted at the district level on both these days stand postponed. The revised schedule will soon be announced,” said a notification issued by the Shaurashtra University.

The theory and practical university exams of GTU are being held for various courses of Bachelors, Masters, Diploma etc. The exams have been scheduled from the month of April-June 2019.
