CCTV installation in evaluation centres

The Gujrat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) after the students has now put the class Xth and Xllth board exam evaluators under CCTV surveillance. Total 353 evaluation centres have been installed for the purpose of answer sheets checking by nearly 49,000 teachers. The evaluation centres are located in grant-in-aid as well as private schools across the state.

GSEB Chairman, AJ Shah stated ” The CCTV cameras have been installed to check evaluator’s punctuality as well as attendance. We have also called for recorded footage on DVDs to verify and check if there is any discrepancy.”

AJ Shah shared, the evaluators have repeatedly asked GSEB to pre-set the evaluation timing to 7 in the morning from existing 11:00 am to avoid the hot day. After the acceptance of their request, they don’t even follow the timings and probably come by 9-10 in the morning.

Last year, the Gujrat board experimented with an online attendance system wherein they could mark their attendance with a simple login on a portal but it somehow didn’t resulted best so this year CCTV cameras have been installed to not let the teachers fudge with their attendance.

Total of 18.40 lakh students appeared in the Gujrat Board examination from class 10th and 12th.
