A decision desirable for 14.61 lakh students recently undertaken by the Haryana government will double the grants for school uniforms, said an official spokesperson on Wednesday. This is a 100% increase from the earlier grant of Rs. 400 to now a Rs. 800 grant.
Previously, a grant of Rs. 400 was designated for school students from grades I to VIII. With the new policy, Rs. 800 will be disseminated to school students of grade I to V. Also, students of classes VI to VIII will be receiving a 1000 rupees grant.
Besides these developments, a Conflict Management and Counselling Cell is under establishment by the Haryana School Education Department with the aim of resolving disputes related to students, teachers and parents, added the Haryana government spokesperson.
Additionally, the government is focusing on distributing science and mathematic kits in secondary and senior secondary government schools since the past two years. Upto 2,300 kits have been circulated so far.
The spokesperson added that, “apart from this, 8,000 kits have been sent to middle schools. Similarly, mathematics kits are also being given to primary schools for promoting maths subject.”
