The current MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Department) minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has yesterday declared to conduct a meeting on 22nd June to discuss the flaws being pulled out of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2019.

The meeting will include all the Head of Education Departments of states across the country.

An official stated in report of NDTV, “Public are already being sought on the draft policy on the minister’s website. Simultaneously, a meeting with the education departments of all the states have been called to seek their point of view in the third week of June. The ministry will put forth the important recommendations made by the draft policy before the education ministers of the states.”

The first draft of the policy was submitted by the HRD minister on May 31st. Post the release of add-ons in the NEP, the South state residentials raised an issue against the mandation of Hindi as third language to be taught in schools across the country.

Seeking the protest, the MHRD has open a ‘Feedback Portal’ where anyone can comment the suggestions regarding amendments in existing draft of New Education Policy. The portal was open on 7th June and is open before 30th June. On this date the final draft will be presented in the cabinet.

The 484-page draft NEP report was prepared by the government-appointed committee led by eminent Scientist K. Kasturirangan.
