“Re-evaluation will soon be introduced for all the CA exams as ICAI is considering bringing together a scheme of amendments in the Chartered Accountant Act 1949, for which dialogues with the University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and Ministry of HRD have already been initiated to provide best practices being followed by universities across the nation,” Naveen Gupta , President , ICAI said.

In its recent council meeting, the ICAI has taken a number of decisions for the establishment of better strategic reforms to strengthen the education system.

Earlier, the students were not allowed to raise any objection against the evaluation as stated under the guidelines of the CA Act, which restricted the process of re-evaluation. Now, he added that if stepwise marking is not followed by the evaluator,  the question will be considered as ‘not-evaluated’, and would be re-evaluated under the new scheme of amendments to be created.

“The Council has also approved changes recommended by the board in the syllabus at foundation, intermediate, and final levels. The updated details will soon be uploaded on the ICAI website”, said Gupta.

The Institute has also adopted the new model called Software as a Service(SaaS) for precise digital evaluation. Through this technology, analytical reports for the committee will be generated for better quality control checks.

Earlier when Live Virtual classes were not accessible to the students, but only to the regional branches, will now be available on the student’s mobile phones and laptops on a moderate fee under the scheme ‘direct to students’.
” East access to study material on a digital platform will reduce the student’s dependency on coaching centres,” said Naveen Gupta.
