The Indraprasth institute of information technology (IIIT) Delhi has announced to organize the season 5 of its summer camp held for students of delhi government schools. The institute has been organizing such summer camps since 2016 in the institute premises but this year it will be organized virtually.

The summer camp will be for students of Class 8 and 9 of government schools. The duration of camp will be of One month. It will begin from may 17 and will end on June 18. The institute was not able to organize the camp in 2020 and thus decided to organize it virtually for an extended duration then usual.

The institute have formed dedicated team of teachers and volunteers which will be teaching the concepts of mathematics, problem-solving, communication skills, personality development, general sciences and entrepreneurship.

Following the latest trends and to enhance the out of the box thinking capability of young minds, the curriculum has been updated with a new module of entrepreneurship.

Other fun activities will also be organised for children and they will get the opportunity to learn origami, sketching and storytelling. The institute will also focus on interactive sessions which will teach the students to express themselves and practice social interaction.

The organizing committee from IIIT especially said that, “Lack of social interaction is impacting the mental health of the students in the worst manner. At this difficult time, the IIITD students who will be teaching these young students are prepared to give them a platform to express themselves and provide them a safe and friendly atmosphere.”

Some of the government schools of which students are participating in the summer camp are School of excellence (Kalkaji), RPVV (Lajpat Nagar), GBSS (Kalkaji), GGSSS (Kalkaji), etc.
