The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Banglore is all set to introduce a one of its kind joint rural entrepreneurship incubation programme from the academic session 2021-22.

NSRCEL, The innovation and entrepreneurship hub of IIM Banglore has collaborated with Buddha Fellowship Program (BFP) to offer this unique entrepreneurship course.

The motive behind this programme is to attract creative and talented students which can innovate ideas to upgrade development sector in terms of both quality and quantity while maintaining the standards.

Through this programme, IIM Banglore aims to transform working professionals into such development entrepreneurs which can nurture, support and build a better future for industries of india.

Venkatesh Panchapagesan, the Chairperson of NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore, about the programme said that the institute focuses on to support entrepreneurs working in rural areas at grass-root level.

He further added that we, at IIM Banglore, believe that rural areas hold immense potential to offer entrepreneurship opportunities which can contribute towards building a more self-reliant nation.

Mr. Chairperson mentioned that entrepreneurs functioning in rural ecosystem are limited to smaller scales due to lack of proper knowledge and availability of primary resources.

Such conditions lead to challenges in several aspects of entrepreneurial startups like marketing, branding, quality standards, value chain creation, product innovation, etc.

Thus, the joint rural entrepreneurship incubation programme will provide adequate knowledge to rural entrepreneurs in order to make them capable of addressing such challenges.

On successful completion of this programme, an individual will become self-reliable to handle any kind of problem which arises in the day-to-day practices of an entrepreneur especially in rural areas.

Ved Arya, the founder and director of Buddha Fellowship Program (BFP), said that their ultimate aim is to groom 1,000 Buddha Fellows which can serve to impact five million people within the next ten years.

He added that BFP is on a mission to build a self-reliant India by eliminating rural poverty and transform the entrepreneurial dreams of young indian minds into a bright reality.
