The Indian Institute of Management has planned to start off with the next sessions virtually. It is one year full time MBAEx programme. On April 20, Anju Seth digitally flagged off the course and is keeping up with the academic calendar of IIM.
Until the lockdown gets over, the classes will be held online and they also reported that after looking upon the situation they would follow the gudelines from Central and state governments to start off with the classes on campus to ensure that the students are safe and in a good health.
In Management for Executives (MBA-PGPX) digitally, IIM- Ahmedabad also started off with its 15th batch last week of the residential Post Graduate Programme
The institute has reported that there are around 68 students from 14th batch of the MBA program with an average work experience of 8.33 years, informs the institute. Out of the total near 35 per cent are from IT and ITES background.
The IIM has also received application for womens’ this year in a good number. 18 percent is the gender diversity for the incoming batch. Last year, there were only 7 females out of the 62 students in the MBA-PGPX batch.
The director, IIM-Calcutta stated that the “Resilience and adaptability in switching temporarily to digital delivery for the benefit of students in the MBAEx Programme. The team has been working seamlessly to plan, develop and offer online courses to ensure the timely commencement of the programs while ensuring students’ learning is not compromised.”
Since mid-March all the schools and colleges across the country have been closed. Classes are being conducted online while there are many institutes which are contemplating to start their classes digitally, IIMs have spearheaded the move.
