The Indian Institute of Management Indore has won the Association of MBA’s Business Excellence Award (AMBA)- Business School Impact on Community and Society on February 1, 2019, by their establishment of Rural Immersion Programme for helping fellow students understanding the rural area problems and help resolve them.
Addressing the ceremony held in London, the award was facilitated to IIM Indore, for which Professor Rohit Kapoor received on the behalf of it. For the institutes that share AMBA’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and those who are passionate about making a difference, this Award was constructed to facilitate those institutes. The Award help motivate those institutes who aim for a sustainable future of the students and also help create social values among them.
The Rural Immersion Programme was launched in 2009, aiming at sensitizing budding managers and entrepreneurs of the Institute towards the scheme implemented by the government in rural areas, also identify and analyze their execution.
The Programme was initiated to provide insights into the dimensions of district-level administration, focussing on policy administration and execution gaps while removing several stereotypes associating with the rural population, said a statement from IIM Indore.
IIM Indore also received the certificate of commendation for the Himalayan Outbound Programme under the MBA Innovation category.
Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore appreciated the Indore community while receiving the award saying, We couldn’t have started the year on a better note”, he observed. “In line with our mission to be socially responsible we will continue to strengthen such endeavours.”
