The Indian Institute of Management- Kozhikode shows that it has improved its gender-ratio this year. It claims that this year’s PGP-24 batch possess 52% of the upcoming batch is female.

The institute claims that the class of 2022 in IIM-K will be the most culturally diverse one with representations from all corners of the country – Northern India (35 per cent), Southern India (28.4 per cent), Western India (14.8 per cent), Eastern India (13.41 per cent), Central India (5.69 per cent) and North-Eastern India (2.03 per cent). Further the institute claims that around 40% of the PGP-24 is from non-engineering disciplines which includes architecture, arts, and sciences, commerce, management, and medicine.

Competing the IIM-K, the IIM-Rohtak too enrolled 69% females in its PGP batch, recording the highest number of females across IIMs. The IIM-Rohtak has increased its 9% enrolment in 2017 to 69% now.

Both the IIMs will hold their classes online in the upcoming academic session. The first batch of the class 2022 will be held virtually from August 12. The institute also plans to conduct a virtual orientation session for the new inductees of its flagship programme before starting the classes.

The director of the IIM-Rohtak mentioned that the reason many females have enrolled for online classes is that the institute takes measures to conduct online classes despite the covid pandemic. He further stated that the institute reached to the potential candidates and made the necessary arrangements for them to take up the course.
