IIMC fee Hike: Alumni write to Ministry of I&B while criticizing the 100% fees increment

Following JNU protest against the hostel fee hike, IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication) Journalism students on 3rd November went on a protest against the 10% hike in course fees. In a recent update, over 120 IIMC Alumni have written to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting led by Prakash Javadekar, criticizing the price hike in the last 10 years while insisting a cutback.

The IIMC Alumni criticized the 100% fees increment in the last 10 years of journalism courses, insisting they are shaking the standard of government-run institutions. The letter was sent to Amit Khare, secretary of I&B, who is also the chairman of IIMC, New Delhi.

The Alumni expressed their disappointment with the government-run institution IIMC turning into private revenue-generating institutions. Such an increase in the fees should be available to the citizens of India as they have outdone themselves with a 27% increment in Journalism courses, 17% in advertising and 16% in all other courses.

IIMC is one of the best mass communication government institutions in the country. IIMC, run by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, known for producing Alumni like Nidhi Razdan, Neelesh Misra, Sudhir Choudhary, Ravish Kumar and more.
