The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has decided to conduct the exams for final year students despite corona pandemic. Though many IITs and other universities have made plans for cancellation of exams, IIT Bhubaneswar didn’t decide it so. They have considered keeping an online exam for the students to ensure “timely graduation”.

The IIT reported that this decision was taken by the senate to ensure no negotiation is the standards of evaluation. The institution has released two schedules so that all the students will be able to take the exam. The set of exams will commence from June 24 and the next set will be starting from July end or from first week of August. The students can choose any one of the time tables.

“The decision in favor of holding the examination was taken by the Senate to uphold the rules of the institute and to graduate the students without compromising on the standards of evaluation,” the IIT said.

To aid the students with the preparation, the institution decided to hold an online mock test so that they get to revise the portions. It is also mentioned that if the current situation improves and if things come back to normal then the students might have to come to the campus to take the second examination.

An official stated this will encourage the students to be more challenging and take up the exam to flourish with flying colors.
